See How Décor Aid Transformed Two Allure Editors’ Offices

INSPIRATION

When Paul Mitchell asked Décor Aid to team up with them and give two Allure editors green office makeovers, we were psyched to accept the challenge. Allure is based in New York’s One World Trade Center, and because the offices are so new, they’re also a bit of a blank canvas. When you spend your day in a high-rise in the middle of bustling Lower Manhattan, it’s easy to feel pretty removed from nature. So, we wanted to bring in plenty of natural elements to infuse their spaces with warmth, color, and life. Take a tour of their revamped spaces and get inspired to add some green to your home office.

Rachael Wang, Allure Fashion Director

When your job revolves around the hectic, crazy world of the fashion industry, you need a serene escape (even if it’s at work). That’s exactly the vibe our designer wanted to achieve with Allure Fashion Director Rachael Wang’s zen office makeover. She wanted a wall of plants, so our designer created a hanging garden of succulents in matte white ceramic planters by West Elm.

Organic Elements

To add more of an organic, outdoorsy feel to Rachael’s office in One World Trade Center, we added panels of wood veneer paper to various spaces on the wall behind her built-in shelving. We styled her shelves with plants in natural bark containers and upped her organization game with a set of recycled cardboard binders.

Fresh Cuts

An elegant striped vase full of spring’s finest tulips adds a vibrant pop of color to the space and serves as a much-needed mood booster.

Nicole Chapoteau, Allure Accessories Director

As Accessories Director, Nicole knows better than anyone how beautiful details can transform a look, so we gave her office a glamorous transformation. From metallic desk accessories to an elegant array of succulents, we gave her space a boost of color and shine.

Dazzling Dots

We covered one wall of Nicole’s office with Chasing Paper’s Speckle print wallpaper. It’s removable, which makes it ideal for offices (and fashion lovers with ever-changing tastes).

Metallic Accents

Metallic planters and accessories complement Nicole’s collection of Jeff Koons’ balloon animals.
