In these final days of summer, we’re looking for ways to keep that summer feeling alive throughout the fall and winter. And really what better way to do that than with one of favorite design classics — the hanging rattan chair? This chair hails from Denmark where they certainly know a thing or two about getting through a long winter. It was designed in 1959 by Danish designers Nanna & Jørgen Ditzel. And was first manufactured by Sika Design, one of the oldest Scandinavian producers of rattan and wicker furniture. For good reason, it quickly became a design classic. You can use it outdoors as a porch swing, but we love seeing inside as extra seating. After all, what better way to capture the lighthearted spirit of summer than swinging indoors? See below for some hanging chair inspiration and a few of our favorites.
