Interior Design Guide

luxury hotel lima

Barranco, a seaside neighborhood in Lima, Peru was once the most fashionable beach destination for 19th century Limeño high society. Today, it’s one of the most romantic and bohemian neighborhoods in the city, and the recently opened Arts Boutique Hotel B (or Hotel B) is at the center.  The boutique hotel was once a private home, built in 1914 and designed by French architect Claude Sahut as a wealthy family’s second residence.

The two-year transformation from a Belle Époque mansion home to modern luxury hotel was spearheaded by two big names in Peruvian design, architect David Mutal and interior designer Jordi Puig. The pair worked to recreate the spirit of Lima in the 1920s, with modern comfort and luxury. However, you don’t have to travel to Lima (although we won’t stop you!) to bring luxury into your bedroom. We’re all looking for that hotel bedroom experience at home, and it’s not difficult to create. Here are a few of our favorite ways to make going to sleep each night feel like a mini-vacation.

Go monochrome. Hotels often stick with a monochromatic color scheme to really tie everything together. At Hotel B in Lima, everything is in shades of whites and creams, but if white is too boring for you, chose your favorite color. But don’t go too wild. Calm and relaxing is what we’re after!
