A design overhaul was a must-have for our client, who had just purchased a co-op overlooking Madison Park. The previous owner had a truly gaudy color scheme, with gold trim walls, bright-red light fixtures, an all-black bathroom and an electric blue kitchen.
Our client knew that Decor Aid could create a refined, stately home—something which would fit into the historic pre-war downtown building. We started be giving the entire apartment a fresh coat of paint. To reflect our client’s existing art pieces, we painted the walls in subdued, neutral greys and muted pastels.
A subdued grey for the living room with semi-gloss white accents replaced the gold walls. The wood in the bathroom was given a white paint job, while a pale moss color was used for the walls.
To draw the eyes towards the living room fireplace, we knocked out the surrounding shelves. Semi-gloss white wood and rebuffed marble creates a compelling neutral scheme.
