Velvet sofas

It’s one of our favorite sofa fabrics for one simple reason, not only does velvet look great, but it’s also virtually indestructible. It’s luxuriously soft, which you’ll love when it’s time to cuddle up with with your Netflix binge of choice. But velvet also happens to be our favorite material to use in homes with pets — particularly cats. Because velvet is a cut pile fabric, there’s nothing for those dangerous kitty claws to attach to — meaning, there are no threads to pull and destroy. (If you’re worried about pet hair, go for a color similar to or darker than your animal’s fur — white cat = ivory velvet, gray pet = gray or blue velvet). And if you have little ones of the human variety at home, you’ll find that velvet wipes up easily. It’s actually one of those fabrics that looks better with age (think English manor house.) Oh and did we mention it was soft? Sold, yet? Take a look at a little velvet sofa inspiration.
