A Mid-Century Home Away From HomeNew York City, NY
A second home is a rare luxury, and an opportunity to stretch one’s decorating imagination. The interior design mandate for this two-bedroom apartment in midtown Manhattan was to create a tranquil oasis within the bustling city. The color palette is cool, using predominantly gray wall paint colors and the client’s favorite color, blue—offset with sophisticated touches of brass. Eclectic wall art brings energy and interest to the living room room decor, while wood floors add a feeling of warmth to the urban style interior.
The overall look is an homage to midcentury style, with sterling examples of iconic design from that period. Our interior designers focused on furnishing the space via auctions and consignment stores, an approach that made it so much simpler to maintain the clients’ desire for affordable interior design. Decor Aid’s team created a classic contemporary interior design that is filled with sophisticated ideas for houses, rental apartments, and small spaces alike.
