Décor Aid Vignette at Housing Works’ Design on a Dime BenefitNew York
For the second year in a row, Décor Aid was honored as one of the top New York interior designer firms in Housing Works’ 13th annual Design on a Dime benefit.
The event took place at The Metropolitan Pavilion, where each designer created a vignette featuring new furniture, art and accessories. Our team of award-winning senior designers curated an exquisite and colorful vignette, blending indoor and outdoor motifs into a truly unique setting.
To emphasize the space’s naturalistic theme, our designers sourced an eclectic collection of curvilinear pieces from some of New York’s top designers. We started by placing a custom-made sofa from Kravet, which was crafted with a rounded back and upholstered with a high-sheen, royal blue fabric.
A Noomi Swivel Chair from Design Within Reach was selected in a petrol blue fabric, and adorned with velvet mustard-colored throw pillows.
A triplet of pendants from Louis Poulsen highlights the lustrous metal objects which can be found throughout the vignette, including a duet of angular mirrors from Bungalow 5, and a River Stone Cocktail table from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
Finally, to give the space a comfortable and luxurious feel, we sourced an opulent fur throw from Holly Hunt.
All of the items were for sale, and 100% of the proceeds were donated to Housing Works.
Housing Works is a nonprofit that fights to ends AIDS and homelessness. Proceeds from Design on a Dime will go towards Housing Works’ Hull Street Residence, a housing development project that will transform a vacant 6,000-square-foot lot into a beautiful and safe home for 28 single, formerly homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS.
