A Space-Saving Solution for this Compact West Village ApartmentBefore & After
With New York City apartments, striking a balance between space and location can often feel like an impossibility. Our client loved the block her apartment was on, but couldn’t find the right layout for the space. So she got in touch with Decor Aid, and asked us to solve her dilemma by crafting a cohesive place within her small place.
We started in the largest area of the aparment, the living room. A low-profile sectional—striking the ideal balance between plush and moldable—gave our client could have a place to hang out and unwind. Without impeding the walkway between the kitchen and bedroom, we snagged a round coffee table, which evens the space’s more rectangular features.
The bathroom was the next room on our list. White and grey tiles, along with a black wood unit and new chrome faucets, creates a chic and serene place within this small home. A fresh coat of white paint was the perfect finishing touch.
Finally, we tackled the bedroom, and created a serene atmosphere by sourcing a tufted West Elm bed frame with nailhead trim. With the space between the bed and the window, we added a vanity, which gives our client a space to get ready, without disrupting the view.
